Description

Stimulants increase dopamine release to abnormally high levels in the brain which can lead to addiction. It is alo known that dopamine neurons co-release glutamate*. Dr. Mingote seeks to elucidate the role of glutamate* co-transmission in the development of amphetamineinduced behaviors, thereby revealing processes involved in the transition to addiction.
