Project Details

Description

Hopes to help develop better antipsychotic drugs for schizophrenia and disorders. He will apply an assay his lab developed to study aripiprazole (Abilify) and similar drugs that do not block the activity of proteins called arrestins, which other antipsychotics do block, thus avoiding side effects common to other antipsychotics. The aim is to understand the relationship between arrestin and drug efficacy.
