Description

RELEVANCE (See instructions): Aging and brain disorders such as dementia and epilepsy lead to deficits in spatial navigation and memory, which are vital to daily functioning and independence. Here, we will identify key neural circuits of navigation and memory in humans, thus helping explain the cause of navigational disorders and memory deficits. This will support the development of navigational aids and guide future circuit-based interventions to alleviate memory loss, thus improving the lives of persons with memory deficits, disorientation, and mental illnesses.
