IN RECENT YEARS THREE MILLISECOND PULSAR BINARIES HAVE BEEN OBSERVED TO SWITCH BETWEEN ACCRETING AND ROTATION-POWERED PULSAR STATES THEREBY UNAMBIGUOUSLY ESTABLISHING THE LONG-SUSPECTED LINK BETWEEN LOW-MASS X- RAY BINARIES AND 'RECYCLED' PULSARS.
