Project Details
Description
Dr. Halmos is investigating the protein AXL's involvement in resistance to targeted therapies and in lung tumor invasion and metastasis. Dr. Halmos will delve into the genetic regulation of AXL expression, the function of AXL in migration, invasion and metastasis, and the downstream proteins and pathways regulated by AXL. The goal of this project is to define how AXL contributes to tumor growth and metastasis and define new targets in the AXL pathway to ultimately develop new treatments for lung cancer.
