Technical assistance and direction for RWJF's Pipeline, Profession and Practice program

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The Foundation's program, Pipeline, Profession and Practice: Community-Based Dental Education, was designed to assist dental schools to increase access to dental care for underserved populations. This grant provides support for technical assistance and direction for the Foundation's Pipeline, Profession and Practice program. The goal of the program is to expand access to oral health care for vulnerable populations by using the dental schools as the focal point of change. Schools of dentistry will receive funds to recruit and retain more low-income and minority students; change their curricula and focus on community-based practice; and place senior students, residents and faculty in community practices to treat more medically disadvantaged persons.
