Abstract
This conclusion emphasizes the main themes from the women’s stories and provides a summary of what is essential for safe motherhood and equitable care. The stories teach us what matters to women of color and all women for safe birthing: care that is accessible and reflects the community in an inclusive environment; care that consciously deconstructs racism and empowers those it is serving to have a voice in policy; care that respects and incorporates cultures and traditions in the passage of birth; maternity care with midwives as main providers.
