Rosie Hernandez’s Story: Becoming a Guardian of Births for Women

Abstract

Rosie is a Latina woman who works as a nurse. She birthed two boys at the CBC and describes how she was able to connect to her grandmother’s birth traditions in Puerto Rico through her experiences. She was a leader in building the mothers’ advisory board at CBC and has gone on to build a doula service for Latina women in the Bronx.
