Abstract
Invasive cervical cancers and their precursors are caused by HPV. Detection and treatment of cervical cancer precursors have been shown tin numerous studies to decrease both the incidence of and death from cervical cancer in screened populations. This article discusses several different approaches used to screen for cervical cancer and its precursors.
