Multicenter trial of decision support for breast cancer chemoprevention

PROJECT NARRATIVE Breast cancer chemoprevention with selective estrogen receptor modulators and aromatase inhibitors are underutilized among high-risk women despite several randomized controlled trials demonstrating a 50-65% decrease in breast cancer incidence. Women with atypical hyperplasia (AH) or lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS) are an important high-risk population to target for chemoprevention. In this proposal, we seek to evaluate the effectiveness and implementation of web-based decision support tools for patients and providers integrated into the electronic health record to increase chemoprevention informed choice among women with AH or LCIS.
