Détails sur le projet

Description

Emergency department (ED) overcrowding and related factors during a patient’s stay increase their risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD) events and subsequent PTSD. The purpose of this research is to test whether modifiable ED factors increase CVD and psychological (burnout) risk in the millions of ED clinicians worldwide who are exposed to those same risk factors for years. If our hypotheses are supported, this research may motivate changes to EDs that offset CVD and psychological risk in clinicians, and may improve patient outcomes.
