Détails sur le projet
Description
The investigations of the Columbia Theoretical Physics Group address a broad range of the outstanding theoretical questions in high energy physics. Our main efforts will lie in the areas of particle physics, quantum field theory, symmetry principles, string theory, general relativity, particle astrophysics, cosmology, and computational quantum field theory. We shall continue and strengthen our close relationships with the development of physics at the RIKEN-BNL Research Center and the RHIC Project at BNL, as well as the physics programs at Fermilab, IHEP in Beijing, KEK and J-PARC in Japan and the LHC at CERN.
The proposed research will be carried out by eight Columbia faculty members: Professors Norman Christ, Frederik Denef, Lam Hui, Robert Mawhinney, Alfred Mueller, Alberto Nicolis, Rachel Rosen, and Erick Weinberg, together with two postdoctoral fellows, and both DOE-funded graduate students, and a number of other graduate students supported by other means.
