Résumé
Five cases of fatal pancreatitis in a series of eighty-six renal allotransplants illustrate the difficulties of diagnosis and treatment of this complication. Pancreatitis after renal transplantation may be caused by steroid medication, hyperparathyroidism, surgical trauma to the pancreas, autorejection, or viral pancreatitis. We suggest alert early detection, appropriate standard treatment, and reduction of steroids as the best steps now available to improve survival of the patient.
