Résumé
Certain theoretic aspects of vascular degeneration are presented. It is our general theory that the initiating factor in atherosclerosis is a series of molecular changes in the connective tissue of arteries, especially in elastin fibers. These molecular changes result in alterations in the physical properties of vessels, which make the arteries increasingly vulnerable to stress. The localization of the atherosclerotic process is determined primarily by rheologie factors, and the computer and graphic display system have provided new methods of studying the fluid dynamics of the vascular system.
